INSPIRATION

“Jack Pines on Granite #2” is a painting of a Georgian Bay, Ontario, island which features two Jack pines. Once again, I was intrigued with the tenacity of life clinging to and thriving in what is an inhospitable environment. The use of modelling paste and silica sand added a textural quality to the abstracted shapes.
